The Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum
Pentax K7
5 shot exposure
3 shot panorama

I wanted a large subject for a panorama. I live in New York so there are many things to shoot. But I have never shot the intrepid and it has always fascinated me. If you look on google maps you will see the size of this ship its huge. Its The size of a normal boat dock here in the city.

Anyway it was hot and I was off work. Thats all the excuse I need to go shoot.

Incredible! I've been to a museum dedicated to submarines. But it was small in comparison to this one.

I love the feel of this. The HDR really helps with the tones and give the Intrepid the feel of being back on patrol.

P.S. Greetings from a fellow NYer.

u know most of these WWII-era carriers that are with us today have gone through some kind of moderation like a angled deck.
i do wish one of these big old girls were restored to there WWII- era configuration. very nice shot by the way

Great shot. Try visiting the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Long Island sometime near Nassau Coliseum.

They say that aircraft carriers were built from the sword of the ocean, and the wing from the sky. Given to man as a gift in his righteous endeavors. Some of the best creations on Earth are those that can fit many bills.
Love the photo. It is gorgeous. My Dad use to take me down to the pier and watch them dock. He was a Coast Guardie, but he has respect for all branches. Good memories. Good photo :)

Awesome, I was in the marine corps and we viewed them as giant water taxis for kicking ass. But your story is way better.
