Not the band...
I recently purchased a Sony A7R to replace my long time companion Canon 5D MK II and previously MK I and previously Rebel 650, well you get the picture so to speak. I have been a canon shooter for about as long as I can remember. I have dabbled in other waters, I still have a Pentax K7 and do love the colors it provides out of camera. Some of my photos here have been produced with all of these cameras and more.
I made a resolution this year to shoot primarily in black and white. Not to totally rule out color but for the most part I haven't looked at just about any of my images in color since the new year. I know that people were following me for my large pano's of cityscapes with vivid colors. And to them I say well you will have to wait until next year for me to start publishing them again. I have a couple ideas brewing about new orleans that may work in that format. But different city different style. It took me 10 years to really nail down my NYC look. Who knows how long NOLA will take me to identify a style I like.

New Camera

So I recently picked up a a7r and sold my canon 5d MK II.. yep sold the camera, lens's and everything. I was just getting tired of walking around with 20 pounds of gear to get a shot. So I just decided to say screw it. I moved to New Orleans going on the second year just about and have just about no photos aside from some events photos for a marching krewe here.
I just couldn't get my interest sparked though to get out of the house and shoot.
So after a year of deliberation and finally just figuring out that I enjoyed shooting on my iPhone because of the convenience I jut decided to get a new camera, lens everything. I replaced my All canon setup with a ting Sony a7r and am now back enjoying what I'm doing.
As you can see I'm playing with black and White and its completely different from my other panorama's and whatnot. Well Its just what I'm interested in doing now, but I don't think the panos will go away just yet. I just need to get comfortable with this camera and go take some so stay tuned.
